Wellness Fortuna Day spa

Description

The intervention programme for the development of a wellness centre concerns an existing complex of villas, currently unfinished and abandoned, located in the immediate vicinity of the historic village of Fortunago. The area covers approximately 10,000 square metres, with the possibility of expansion into surrounding plots, and is set within a park of over 70,000 square metres.

The project is structured around two main functional areas. The first concerns the development and completion of services within the perimeter of the villas, with the aim of upgrading the hospitality offering to standards suitable also for an international clientele. The second area focuses on strengthening connections with the historic village, in order to integrate and enhance existing assets as well as recently completed interventions.

Within the first area, the project includes the completion of the currently abandoned villas, together with the necessary modifications and extensions to adapt their spaces and systems. It also foresees the construction of an outdoor panoramic heated swimming pool and an indoor pool connected to the SPA. The project further includes the landscaping of outdoor areas, with green spaces and furnishings designed to ensure full accessibility to all accommodation units for all types of users.

All interventions will be guided by environmental sustainability principles, which are already inherent in the redevelopment of the existing structures, as well as by energy consumption reduction targets, to be achieved through extensive use of renewable energy sources.

From a design perspective, the redevelopment and urban integration works will be consistent with the local context, favouring the use of traditional materials sourced from nearby areas.

Fortunago

Fortunago, one of the “Most Beautiful Villages in Italy,” is a municipality of 360 inhabitants located in the Pavese Apennines at 586 metres above sea level, at the centre of the Turin–Milan–Genoa industrial triangle and just a few kilometres from the A21 and A7 motorway exits.

At the heart of this area, it is possible to find oneself immersed in an unspoiled and sparsely populated landscape, where the only remaining human activities are those linked to an ancient agricultural economy. In fact, almost the entire municipal territory falls within a protected inter-municipal park area and has remained intact from both an environmental and human perspective.
