Description

Redevelopment project of properties, buildings and land constituting as part of the historic core of the Municipality of Vizzola Ticino.
The properties extend over a wide surface , including portions of the building fabric within the Ancient village (Corte Bellezza and Corte Santa) and a larger area, located beyond the municipal road,
consisting of three courtyard buildings (Corte Giovanna, Corte Vincenza and Corte Emilia) set around a green area.
The buildings, very interesting from an architectural point of view due to their typological and morphological characteristics, are well suited for recovery to new uses, possibly including services of public interest.

Vizzola Ticino

Vizzola Ticino is the smallest municipality in the Ticino Park, in the province of Varese, counting over 560 inhabitants. It is located in a large natural bend of the Ticino river, bordering the province of Novara and in close proximity to Malpensa Airport.
It is especially known for being the headquarters of the Caproni aeronautical industry. Now home to the Volandia Park and Flight Museum, the former Caproni aeronautical workshops are a complex of industrial buildings dating back to 1915 and commissioned by Giovanni Battista Caproni, founder of the famous aircraft company and inventor of the triplane.
In the municipality there is also a test track (2,460 meters of path) owned by Pirelli and artificially dampened for testing the pneumatic braking system also on wet surface.
Some important civil architectures: Site of Castelnovate (now visible only in ruins), probably of early medieval origin, the hydroelectric power station of Vizzola, the Villa Caproni and the Ex Officine Aeronautiche Caproni.
