Lombardy and Japan: Innovation and Business Collaboration
An opportunity for discussion and networking to strengthen the dialogue between Lombardy and Japan on innovation, research and business development.
The event “Lombardy and Japan: Shaping Innovation Together”, organised by Regione Lombardia and JETRO (Japan External Trade Organization), will take place on Tuesday, 14 July 2026, from 9.30 a.m., at the Belvedere Hall, Palazzo Lombardia in Milan.
The event will bring together institutional representatives, universities, start-ups, businesses and stakeholders from both countries to explore new opportunities for collaboration between the Lombardy and Japanese innovation ecosystems.
The morning will open with institutional greetings from the President of the Lombardy Region, Attilio Fontana; the Ambassador of Italy to Japan, Mario Vattani; and the Governor of Osaka Prefecture, Hirofumi Yoshimura, who will deliver a video message.
The programme will feature sessions dedicated to cooperation models between Lombardy and Japan, technology transfer, life sciences, the green transition, and the opportunities offered by Japan’s innovation ecosystem, including presentations from businesses and initiatives supporting internationalisation.
The event will conclude with a networking session, fostering new relationships and collaborations between companies, institutions and stakeholders from both countries.
